African Liberation Day
African Liberation Day was such an enlightening experience. I had the opportunity to witness a wonderful community coming together, showing each other love by serving the people of West Dayton. Their goal, ensuring they are not forgotten and left behind! COAL, the Coalition of African Liberators works in underserved communities by making sure that they get the services and resources in which they desire and need. When West Dayton saw that all the big grocers were pulling out of their community this organization and supporters took action into their own hands by establishing their own grocery store for the community. This past Saturday was a continuation of those efforts as the Dayton Community lobbied to rename their green space, the formerly known Dayton View Park’, to Liberation Park. A symbolism of supporting and creating a community made for us by us.
Of course the day would not be complete if I did not highlight my skin care line and the Summer Series Yoga Classes!
